Ad blocker stopped working after an iOS update?
iOS updates sometimes switch Safari extensions off. Nothing is broken — turning your ad blocker back on takes one switch.
Turn it back on
- Open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions. On iOS 17: Settings → Safari → Extensions.
- Tap the blocker — for Popbye, Popbye — Ad Blocker.
- Turn on Allow Extension. Using Popbye's Tracker Blocker too? Check Popbye — Tracker Blocker the same way.
Still seeing ads?
- Open the blocker's app once: Popbye checks its status and rebuilds its rules when you open it.
- Popbye blocks with Popbye Pro — check that your subscription is active in the app.
- Close Safari in the app switcher and open it again.
- Open the Popbye test page in Safari to see what is removed.
Get a reminder next time
Popbye checks itself when you open it and in the background. If you allow notifications, it tells you when it has been switched off.
